Kenneth E. Norman Mediation
Mission Statement
To use my expertise to help parties resolve disputes efficiently and effectively, minimizing the time, cost and emotional toll of litigation.
I look forward to working with you to help resolve your matter.
Please see “Feesâ link.
Please also download and sign the “Agreement to Mediate & Confidentiality Agreement.”
The Start of the Process
After I have been contacted to schedule a mediation, I shall immediately work with both parties to find an available date. I shall also discuss my fees which can be found on this website and discuss the document that must be signed under Kansas law, the Agreement to Mediate & Confidentiality Agreement. These documents will also be discussed at the beginning of each mediation. If you do not understand the documents and want them discussed before signing, please feel welcome to bring them to the mediation where I will review them with you. I believe all parties should be comfortable with and optimistic for a successful mediation.
Please mail the signed Agreement to Mediate & Confidentiality Notice with the payment of fees.
What is Mediation
Mediation is a process where parties to a civil dispute meet and discuss settlement options. Parties with a dispute simply come together to discuss their wants and desires regarding the matter, and a settlement agreement is often reached.
Advantages of Mediation
-
The parties are involved in reaching an agreement, making them more invested in reaching an amicable settlement. -
The matter is fully resolved when the parties leave a successful mediation. -
There is huge risk in trial: You never know what a judge or jury will decide. -
The costs of a trial are immense: To litigate a personal injury matter often easily exceed $20-to-30,000.00.
Areas of Expertise
Kenneth E. Normanâs expertise is bodily injury civil matters. I am a member of the California Bar and maintained an almost exclusively motor vehicle accident private practice for fifteen years. Thusly, my expertise is in auto accidents. I also mediate premises liability, products liability, real estate and business disputes.
Mediation Style
With real estate and business disputes mediations are often successful working with the parties at the same table. With auto, premises liability and products liability disputes the parties necessarily must be separated, whereupon I conduct “shuttleâ mediations, going back and forth between the parties relaying/explaining the other partyâs position and working with both sides to reach an amicable settlement value.
Communities Served
I am a native Wichitan and maintain a primarily Wichita practice. I, however, service all of South-Central Kansas: Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, McPherson, Marian, Reno, & Sumner counties.
